The project Interactivos? at the Medialab-Prado in Madrid has developed a methodology of open and collaborative work, inspired by the science of garage, which enables interdisciplinary groups to work intensively for a few weeks and move forward with prototyping of projects that are been selected in a public call por projects.

David Gomez: Wikis in formal higher education

Using wikis in regular education programs is quite difficult because the philosophy of this technology, open and collaborative, often clashes with the rigid versus traditional systems of assessment -with quantitative and individual work-. Complex but not impossible. There are always people who researches and implements new ways to expand those limits. David Gomez is one of those people. He has been working for a long time with wikis and since two years ago he is also taking the adventure of bringing this work to a course at the UOC, and whose experience has shared in the Symposium.

Julián Boal: The theater of the Opressed and the Expanded Education

Oppression: "The power relationship between social groups and not between individuals." Without next-generation multimedia presentations or jokes perfectly fit among the slides. Julian Boal does not need artifices to talk with the oldest audiovisual tools: the voice and the gesture. The same as at the Theater of the Oppressed, the work started by his father in the 70’s and the work that Julian is conducting this week at the Workshop in the UNIA.

"If we can be literated in how games work, we can challenge them and make our own games to think the world"

Gonzalo Frasca makes a living from playing games but he is not a lucky insane. Although many envy him for that. He plays, design video games, studies them and teaches them. He has also a Ph.D. in the subject. This allows him to think critically from anthropology to metaphysics to discover the lessons hidden in the enjoyment of playing.
