Sinopsis: Pasatiempos Domésticos v. Softcore is inspired by porn movies and feminist performances in the 70’s. It uses both lines of representation of female bodies, and borrows Rivière’s notion of mascarade to build a sexualized representation of housework. The main character of the piece finds agency in the interstice that is left between the imagery of the ideal housewife, of the woman being oppressed by domesticity, and of the pornographic female body. Through a private use of these codes of representation that regulate female bodies, she creates new domestic iconographies which modify the perception both of private space and of her own body. However, she is still trapped in the main scopic regime which uses hypersexualised feminity as a source of pleasure.
